REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EXTERNSHIP Funding Program
MSFC believes that medical students and residents should have the means to obtain clinical exposure to abortion care. We support abortion training by providing these three resources to medical students and residents: funding for a Reproductive Health Externship, access to our directory of abortion training host facilities, and maintenance of a list of residency programs that integrate abortion training.
About the RHE Funding ProgramThe Reproductive Health Externship (RHE) Funding Program provides an excellent opportunity to receive training in abortion techniques and patient care in a clinical setting. The primary goal of the RHE Funding Program is to fund students’ and residents’ efforts to obtain clinical exposure to abortion care. The long-term goal of this program is to ensure that abortion becomes a standard part of women’s reproductive health care by increasing the number of medical students and residents who receive abortion training and intend to provide abortion care in their future practices.
Any medical student or resident currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited medical school or residency program may apply for funding through the RHE Funding Program. Accepted applicants qualify for a stipend to cover the costs associated with participation in the externship. To learn about the application process, please visit our Funding Program page.
